Additional charges laid against former neurologist

We have laid additional charges against a neurologist stemming from allegations of sexual assault against his former patients.

In June 2018 and in October 2018, charges were laid against Dr. Keith Mordin HOYTE, 73, after an extensive investigation into allegations that he sexually touched patients during medical exams spanning several decades.

Fifteen additional sexual assault charges have now been laid against HOYTE after 13 more complainants came forward to report assaults taking place between 1987 and 2013. One complainant reported being 12 years old when the sexual assaults began.

He will next appear in court on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021.

We encourage anyone who has been sexually assaulted to report it, even if it occurred in the past. There is no time limit on how long a victim has to report a sexual assault in Canada and police can still investigate an incident decades after it occurred.
