2025 Property tax bill mailout
Today, The City of Calgary mailed approximately 585,000 property tax bills to residential and non-residential property owners. Property tax is due Monday, June 30. A late payment penalty of seven per cent will be applied to any unpaid portion of property tax on July 1.
Property owners who have not received their property tax bill in the mail by May 23, should contact 311 to obtain a statement of account. The late payment penalty applies to all accounts that pay after the June 30 due date, including property owners who did not receive their tax bill in the mail.
To help property owners be able to access and view their property tax information, we’ve expanded our online self-serve options. Property owners can now view their current year’s tax bill, and four previous years, through our secure website, calgary.ca/mytax.
We offer multiple ways for property owners to pay their tax bill, the most popular way is monthly, through The City’s Tax Instalment Payment Plan (TIPP). The property tax deadline doesn’t apply to property owners enrolled in TIPP by June 30. Property owners can join TIPP online quickly and easily by going to calgary.ca/TIPP and clicking on the Join TIPP box.
Property owners looking for information on payment options, as well as property tax assistance programs available to eligible homeowners, can visit calgary.ca/propertytax.
The City collects property tax on behalf of the Alberta Government. Approximately 37 per cent of residential tax dollars go directly to the province and the remaining 63 per cent is a vital source of revenue supporting City services including:
· Public safety with police, fire and emergency response
· Keeping Calgarians moving with transit, streets and pathways
· Building and maintaining City infrastructure
· Improving Calgarians lives through housing, parks and recreation
