2023 Calgary Police Half Marathon set to run this weekend

Come out and support participants of the Calgary Police Half Marathon!

Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, marks the 43rd annual Calgary Police Half Marathon, which includes a half marathon, 10-kilometre, and five-kilometre distance races.

The iconic race has been a staple in the Calgary running community since 1980 and is continually evolving to ensure there is something for everyone.

Once again, the Calgary Police Half Marathon has partnered with the Calgary Police Youth Foundation, which educates children and youth about good citizenship, safe communities, policing and avoiding victimization and criminality. Proceeds raised will go to support the Calgary Police Youth Foundation’s youth programs that help to create a community where all children and youth can thrive and succeed.

The Calgary Police Half Marathon also makes a yearly donation to the Mount Royal University Bursary Program. Since 2000, the race has contributed more than $100,000 to the program, and students in a variety of faculties have benefitted from financial aid through the program. We are proud of this partnership and the aid it has provided.

The race begins at 8 a.m. and will run from Mount Royal University into the communities south of the campus and around the Glenmore Reservoir before returning along the same route back to the finish line. See the race map here

Commuters near Mount Royal University can expect higher traffic volumes and an increase in pedestrian traffic on Sunday morning due to the race.
