2022 Chief's Awards Gala

The Calgary Police Service 2022 Chief’s Awards Gala will take place tonight, Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, to honour community members along with sworn and civilian members of the Service who performed exemplary acts of courage and commitment to their community.

Community member recipient stories include assisting an officer who was struggling to apprehend a combative subject, intervening when a young man attempted suicide, solving missing persons cold cases, saving the life of a man struck by a CTrain and honouring community commitment and support to law enforcement.

Officer recipient stories include countless examples of intervening in mental health crisis, either through the use of de-escalation and/or life-saving medical intervention, as well as life-saving measures for gunshot victims, drownings and stabbing victims.

“In a time of great challenge, it is even more important that we shine a light on the incredible work done by Calgary Police Service officers and community members. The ability to go above and beyond the call of duty for both citizens and officers alike, is what brings us together and creates a city we are all proud to be part of,” says Chief Constable Mark Neufeld.
