Victim of fatal assault identified

Following an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the victim of a fatal assault has been identified.

At approximately 8:20 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, officers responded to a report of a serious assault in the 700 block of 67 Avenue S.W. Upon arrival they found an adult male who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Jordan Gregory FRYDENLUND, 30, of Calgary.

Detectives believe a deadly confrontation took place and the incident is being investigated as a homicide.

The investigation is ongoing.
