Victim identified in Bowness shooting

Following an autopsy, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has formally identified the victim of a shooting in the Bowness area as Arnold KERFONT, 44, of Calgary.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, emergency crews were called to the 4600 block of Bowness Road N.W., for reports of a man in medical distress. When officers arrived they found a man in his 40s who had sustained critical injuries as the result of a shooting. He died a short time later in hospital.

Investigators continue to canvass the neighbourhood and speak with witnesses.
