Update: Homicide Unit investigation in Tuxedo Park

Update: 

An approximate four-block radius around the suspected scene of this suspicious death will be closed for several hours as officers continue to search for evidence. 

Roads will be closed between 28 Avenue and 29 Avenue and 1st and 2nd Street N.E. The CPS Mobile Command Vehicle is on scene to assist searchers.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the residents of Tuxedo Park for the inconvenience these closures may have. 

An autopsy on the victim, who is in his 40s, is scheduled for Tuesday, May 2, 2017, however, he has been tentatively identified and his next of kin have been notified. The victim's identity won't be released pending the outcome of the autopsy.

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating after an injured man was brought into a local hospital and later died from his injuries.

Around 11:59 p.m., on Sunday, April 30, 2017, a man was dropped off at the Peter Lougheed Centre suffering from life-threatening injuries. He died a short time later.

Investigators have spoken with the person who brought the victim to hospital and have been able to locate the original scene in the community of Tuxedo, where it’s believed the man sustained his injuries.

As the man’s death is suspicious in nature, the CPS Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. The victim in this case is known to police and identification is pending with his next of kin. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at which time more details will be available.
