Update - Caregivers of child located

The Calgary Police Service has located the parents of the child that was found earlier this morning in the Varsity area. 

The Child at  Risk Response Team (CARRT) is currently investigating. Partner agencies are involved. To protect the privacy of the family, no further details will be shared at this time. We also ask the photo of the child be removed from social media.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in locating the caregiver(s) of a child that was found this morning.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., this morning, Thursday, July 20, 2017, police received a call that a child had been located on the street in the 3500 block of Varsity Drive N.W.

The child, a girl, approximately 2 years old, is safe and being attended to. She is described as Caucasian, with short dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. She is wearing black plants with blue and pink hearts and a white sweater with teapots on it. Photos of her are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

At this time police are concerned for the welfare of the caregiver(s). Anyone who is aware of the identity of the child or her caregiver(s) is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or by anonymously contacting Crime Stoppers using any of the following methods:
