UPDATE: Undetermined Death On 10 Avenue S.W.

Following an investigation by the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit, the death of a man found deceased earlier this morning downtown has been deemed non-suspicious.

As it is not believed to be a criminal matter, no further details will be released.

The Calgary Police Service is currently on scene after the body of a man was discovered this morning downtown.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 06, 2016, a passerby called police after noticing a man lying on a sidewalk in the area of 2 Street S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. The man, believed to be in his 30s, was declared deceased on scene.

It is not yet known whether this death is suspicious in nature. The Medical Examiner has been called out to determine the likelihood of whether the death might be criminal in nature or not. Police have closed a number of roads in the area as part of the investigation.
