Suspicious death investigation in Ranchlands

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a suspicious death that occurred over the weekend in the city’s northwest.

At approximately 9:50 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, police were called to check on the welfare of a resident in the 400 block of Ranchlands Grove N.W. Once inside, police found a deceased three-year-old male. An adult female found in the home was taken to hospital in stable, non-life threatening condition.

An autopsy is currently ongoing. It is anticipated that no further information will be released until after the autopsy is completed.

Next-of-kin notifications were completed late this afternoon. The Homicide Unit is leading this investigation.
