Violent sex assault

The Calgary Police Service Sex Crimes Unit  is investigating a serious sexual assault that took place earlier today.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, officers responded to a call in the 10,000 block of Macleod Trail South.

A woman was found at the scene, violently assaulted, including sexually assaulted.

Officers took an offender into custody at the scene. Charges are pending.

In order to respect the privacy of the victim, the name of her place of work where she was assaulted will not be released at this time.
