Seeking information about April shooting incident

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance for information about a shooting that took place in April.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., on Friday, April 15, 2016, police were called to a home in the 900 block of Erin Woods Drive S.E. for reports of a shooting. The complainant alleges he was on his way home from work when he noticed an SUV was tailgating him at about 4 a.m., driving westbound onto the south leg of Erin Woods Drive from 52 Street S.E.

The SUV pulled out from behind the victim, passing him in the oncoming traffic lane, before pulling in front of him and stopping, forcing the victim to stop. A man got out of the SUV and walked towards the victim, brandishing a gun and demanding the victim get out of the car. When the victim wouldn’t get out of his vehicle, the man smashed the butt of his gun against the victim’s window.

Startled, the victim drove around the man in an attempt to get away. The man then fired at the victim’s vehicle. A bullet was later found lodged in the engine compartment after travelling through the driver’s window.

The SUV is described as a beige or cream coloured, older model. The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 5’11” tall, 200 pounds, with a medium build. He was wearing a grey shirt and white ball cap with a black rim.

Anyone with information about this incident, or the identity of the man who is believed to be involved, is asked to call the Calgary Police Service non-emergency line at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be left anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers using any of the following methods:
