Second-degree murder charges pending in Rundle homicide

Second-degree murder charges are pending against a Calgary man in connection with the death of his brother.

At approximately 1 a.m., today, Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, police were called to the 0-100 block of Rundlehorn Terrace N.E., for reports of a man in medical distress. Upon arrival, the man was declared deceased by EMS.

It is alleged a verbal argument between the siblings escalated to a physical altercation, whereby the younger brother received fatal injuries. An autopsy on the 29-year-old victim is currently underway. His identity will be released once the procedure has been completed and next of kin notified.

The 34-year-old accused remains in custody and his name will be released once he sees a Justice of the Peace.
