Serious Injury Collision - Olympic Way and 11 Avenue S.E.

At. approximately 1:40 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, a single vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Olympic Way and 11 Avenue S.E.
 
Upon initial investigation, it appears that a 2009 Infiniti G37 traveling southbound on Olympic Way S.E., towards the intersection at 11 Avenue, attempted to turn west onto 11 Avenue when it overshot the intersection and collided with a traffic pole located on the southwest corner of the intersection.
 
The 30 year old male driver of the vehicle sustained serious leg injuries and the 30 year old male passenger sustained serious leg and head injuries. Both occupants were taken to hospital.
 
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this collision, but possible excessive speed is being investigated.
 
Members of the Traffic Unit continue to investigate the collision.
