Seeking Public Assistance - Violent Robbery
The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance following a violent robbery that occurred overnight.
At approximately 2:40 a.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, a man walked into a convenience store in the 6000 block of Memorial Drive N.E., and walked up to the lone employee behind the counter.
The man pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at the victim, demanding cash from the register. When the employee refused, the suspect walked behind the counter and attacked the victim, hitting him in the head with the handgun.
The victim was also thrown to the ground, which allowed the suspect to grab the cash register and pull it off the counter. He then left the store.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, 30 to 35 years old, 5’9” tall, with a medium build and a goatee. He was wearing a dark hoodie, jeans and white shoes.
