The Calgary Police Service is seeking assistance in locating a man who was acting suspiciously around a child.
At approximately 10:20 a.m., on Sunday, May 6, 2012, a six-year-old boy was playing in a yard in the 400 block of Whiteland Drive N.E., when he noticed a vehicle pass by several times. At one point, the driver stopped the car and made eye contact with the child, at which time the boy ran inside and told his mother.
A short time later, the boy and his younger siblings were again playing in the yard when the same vehicle pulled up. The driver allegedly rolled down the window and spoke to the children. The kids ran inside and told their mom who then called police.
Units circulated the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle, described as a small, silver sport utility vehicle with a loud muffler.
The driver is described as having dark skin, perhaps of East Indian descent, with brown eyes and dark hair. He had a large, bushy moustache and had a deep voice. The man was wearing an orange and red button-up shirt, perhaps with flames on the front.
Police are hoping to identify this man and determine his reasons for interacting with the children.
