Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for October 26, 2012

Calgary, AB – October 26, 2012 For immediate release
Southwest
Westbound Bow Trail, east of Crowchild Trail, will have a right lane closure from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, October 29, for work related to the Bow Trail bridge rehab project. Access to westbound Bow Trail and Crowchild Trail exit will be maintained at all times.
There will be multiple lane closures on southbound Blackfoot Trail north of Glenmore Trail, from, 8 p.m. Monday, October 29, until 5 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, to allow for overhead sign structure work. Calgary Police will be on-site to periodically stop and direct traffic as required. The speed limit will be reduced to 60 km/h during construction.
Southeast
84 Street S.E., south of 17 Avenue, will be closed to southbound traffic from 7 p.m. Friday, October 26, to 5 a.m. Monday, October 29, for emergency utility repairs. Detour signs will be posted.
Westbound Glenmore Trail, west of 30 Street S.E., remains reduced to 30 km/h until 2 p.m. Saturday, October 27, for CP Rail crossing repairs.
Macleod Trail S.E., between 6 Avenue and 5 Avenue S.E., will have the left lane closed from 3:30 p.m. Thursday, October 25, until Sunday, November 4, weather permitting. This closure is part of the District Energy project utility work.
6 Avenue S.E., between Macleod Trail and 1 Street S.E., will have the two right lanes closed from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, October 26, weather permitting, This closure is for utility work.
The intersection of 1 Street S.E. and 6 Avenue S.E. will be completely closed from 7 p.m. on Friday, October 26, to 5 a.m. Monday, October 29, weather permitting. This closure is part of the District Energy project for ENMAX.
10 Avenue S.E., between 1 Street S.E. and Centre Street, will be reduced to one lane per direction on the north side of 10 Avenue from 7 p.m. Friday, October 26, to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 28, for underground utility work.
61 Avenue S.E., between 44 Street S.E. and 46 Street S.E., will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday, October 26, to 5 a.m. Monday, October 29, for utility installations. Eastbound traffic will be directed to 68 Avenue S.E. and westbound traffic will be directed to 54 Avenue S.E. to bypass the construction.
Northwest
John Laurie Boulevard at McKnight Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 7 a.m. Saturday, October 27, to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 28, for utility repairs.
The ramp from northbound Crowchild Trail to eastbound Memorial Drive N.W. will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, for the installation of a new guardrail. Detour signs will be posted.
Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. at 10 Street N.W. will be reduced to one through lane of traffic from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, October 28, for utility repairs, weather permitting.
There will be daily, various lane closures on Shaganappi Trail between Northland Drive and John Laurie Boulevard due to the widening of Shaganappi Trail.
There will be daily, various lane closures on 16 Avenue N.W. between Bowness Road and Shaganappi Trail N.W. due to ongoing 16 Avenue bridge rehabilitation work.
Special events
North bound 1 Street S.W., between 8 Avenue and 9 Avenue S.W., will be reduced to one lane of traffic and no parking from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, October 27, for event parking.
Provincial closures
Sun Valley Boulevard S.E., at the interchange of Highway 22X, will be reduced to one lane in each direction and an additional restriction on Chapparral Boulevard S.E. will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly October 26-29, weather permitting. Motorists should obey all signs, message boards and flag people.
