Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for October 17, 2012

Calgary, AB – October 17, 2012                                                                   For immediate release
 
Northeast
9 Street N.E., between McPherson Road and Memorial Drive N.E., will be closed to southbound traffic Thursday, October 18 and Friday, October 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a crane lift. Drivers should reroute to 12 Street N.E. for access to Memorial Drive.
 
Southwest
26 Avenue S.W., between 18 and 19 Street, will be fully closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 18 for paving.
 
Southeast
1 Street S.E., between 5 Avenue and 6 Avenue S.E., will be reduced to two lanes for an emergency repair.  This is part of the District Energy Project. This road closure is expected until Thursday, October 18.

Northwest
There will be daily, various lane closures on Shaganappi Trail between Northland Drive and John Laurie Boulevard due to the widening of Shaganappi Trail.
 
There will be daily, various lane closures on 16 Avenue N.W. between Bowness Road and Shaganappi Trail N.W. due to ongoing 16 Avenue bridge rehabilitation work.

West LRT
The right turning lane on westbound 17 Avenue S.W. at the intersection of Costello Boulevard S.W. will be closed Thursday, October 18 at 7 a.m. until Sunday, October 21 at 7 p.m.  This closure is required to complete intersection asphalt work.   Directional signage will be in place to allow for right turns at the intersection.
 
The right turning lane on westbound 17 Avenue S.W. at the intersection of 69 Street S.W. will be closed from Thursday, October 18 at 7 a.m. until Sunday, October 21 at 7 p.m.  The closure is required to complete intersection asphalt work.  Directional signage will be in place to allow for right turns at the intersection.
