CPS CREST
Tomorrow afternoon, Friday, July 13, 2012, 24 members of Recruit Class #198 will graduate from the Calgary Police Service Chief Crowfoot Learning Centre. Also receiving his badge at this graduation ceremony will be Calgary Police Service Dog, Tigg.

The ceremony will take place at 1 p.m., at Mewata Armoury, 801 11 St. S.W. Chief Rick Hanson will speak and inspect the graduates.

One interesting feature with this graduating class is the high number of recruits who will have their badges co-presented by Chief Hanson and either their police officer father or uncle. Ten of the 24 graduates will have this distinction.

The graduating class will perform a series of drills and a number of members of the class will be presented with individual awards for outstanding achievement during their 5-month training program.

Following graduation, the CPS members will be assigned to work with Police Training Officers for the final 15-week phase of their basic learning.
