Calgary Fire Department Crews On Scene At Auto Recycling Business

 

The Calgary Fire Department is on scene at an autoparts recycling business in the 5800 block of 12 Street SE. At approximately 9:15 a.m. CFD crews responded to reports of a fire in a pile of compressed auto parts, which they quickly extinguished.

 

Fire crews remain on scene removing material from the pile and separating the product to ensure there is no extension of fire. This is expected to continue into the evening.

 

Air quality in the area has been tested and is within acceptable levels. There is no risk to area residents or businesses.
