Police investigating suspicious death

We are currently investigating a suspicious death that occurred last evening in the downtown core.

At approximately 6:20 p.m., on Thursday, April 15, 2021, an altercation occurred between two people on the west side of 11 Street S.W., at the Ctrain tracks near the Kerby Centre, during which one man was stabbed. The victim, a man in his 40s, collapsed and the suspect fled the area on foot.

First responders attended and the victim was taken to hospital where he subsequently died due to his injuries.

An autopsy will take place today, Friday, April 16, 2021. No further information can be released at this time.
