Police investigate sexual assault - Edgemont

Our officers are investigating what is believed to be a sexual assault in the community of Edgemont after a woman reported the incident to police. We are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect in this incident.

At approximately 7:40 p.m., on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, a woman was walking near the 200 block of Edgebrook Place N.W., when she noticed a male cyclist following her. The unknown male approached the victim and asked for directions. During their brief conversation, the suspect touched the victim sexually and then promptly fled the scene on his bicycle.

The man is described as between 5’ 7” to 5’ 9” tall, in his late teens, with a heavy build, brown skin and dark hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black jacket, white t-shirt and blue jeans, with a helmet hanging from the handlebars of his bicycle.
