Police front counter hours changing to better serve public

Beginning on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, front counter hours at all district offices will be changing so that more staff will be available to better serve the public during peak times.

Front counters at all district offices will now be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.

After reviewing the number of public interactions that occur at front counters, the decision was made to shorten the hours so that more officers could be scheduled to work during busier times. It is expected this change in start times will better serve citizens who may have previously been kept waiting.

Calgarians will still have the option to pre-book appointments with front counter officers online at www.calgarypolice.ca.

In addition to attending a district office, citizens can also report crimes online at www.calgarypolice.ca, by downloading the CPS Mobile App, or by calling 403-266-1234. For an emergency or a crime-in-progress, citizens should call 9-1-1.

A complete list of district office locations, hours of operations and contact numbers can be found here: http://www.calgary.ca/cps/Pages/Calgary-Police-Service-district-offices.aspx.
