Police charge man in connection with bank robbery

The Calgary Police Service has charged a man in connection with a bank robbery earlier this week.

At approximately 12:45 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, a man entered the Bank of Montreal branch located in the 3800 block of Memorial Drive N.E. Once inside, he presented a robbery note to the teller that claimed he was armed and demanded money. For an unknown reason, the man then fled the bank before obtaining any money.

Shortly after the robbery, patrol officers responded to an unrelated call in the 300 block of 5 Avenue N.E., and realized that the man they were dealing with at that call matched the description of the robbery suspect. The suspect was arrested and later charged.

Bradley Albert KINGCOTT, 34, of no fixed address, is charged with one count of robbery.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Calgary Police Service Robbery Unit at 403-428-8787 or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
