Police arrest man wanted on 25 outstanding warrants

After a search lasting over a month and involving many different units, the Calgary Police Service has located and arrested a man wanted on 25 different warrants.

The search began after an assault in the 600 block of Edmonton Trail N.E., on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017. A suspect was identified soon after and while police were trying to locate him, it is believed the same suspect committed numerous other offences, including lighting a vehicle on fire, uttering threats and stealing a vehicle.

A police operation involving several different investigative units and district patrol officers across the Service located a man believed to be the suspect at approximately 3 a.m., on Friday, March 3, 2017. The man was in a stolen vehicle and fled from police, but was later located at a residence in the community of Douglasdale, where he was arrested.

Cameron Hugh GREEN, 28, of Calgary, is charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm, one count of uttering threats, one count of destroying or damaging property, 14 counts of breaching a court order, three counts of breaching a probation order, three counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, and one count each of possession of stolen property over $5,000, theft under $5,000, and theft of a motor vehicle.

Police asked the public for help locating GREEN last month, and several reported public sightings helped police greatly in their search. The Calgary Police Service would like to thank the public and media for their assistance with this investigation.

GREEN remains in custody.
