Penbrooke Shooting Investigation

The Calgary Police Service is currently investigating a shooting incident in the community of Penbrooke that left one man seriously injured.

At approximately 2:20 a.m., today, Friday, May 6, 2016, police were called to the 400 block of Penswood Road S.E., for reports that a man had been shot. The victim was transported to hospital in serious, but stable condition.

Witnesses reported hearing a vehicle flee the scene. A short time later a vehicle matching the description was stopped by police. The occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody for questioning. It is not yet known what, if any, role they may have played in the incident.

Investigators believe the shots originated outside the residence. Numerous rounds were discharged into the residence, striking one of the individuals in the home at the time. Officers are working to determine how many people were in the home during the incident.
