Pedestrian collision in northwest

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a pedestrian collision in the northwest.

At approximately 10 a.m. today, Thursday, July 28, 2016, a woman was reversing her Honda CRV out of her driveway in the 100 block of Hawkwood Drive N.W. when she struck a female pedestrian that was walking on the sidewalk.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.

She was walking her dog at the time. The dog, black in colour, and wearing a leash, left the scene when the incident occurred, and is currently being searched for.

The Traffic Section continues to investigate. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Traffic office at 403-567-4000.
