Pedestrian collision - Millrise Drive S.W.

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a pedestrian collision that has left one person in life-threatening condition.

At approximately 9 a.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, a 25-year-old man was driving a 2012 Hyundai Tuscon eastbound on Millrise Drive S.W. As he approached the southeast corner of the intersection of Millrise Drive and Millbank Drive S.W., he struck two pedestrians, a 67-year-old woman and a 4-year-old girl.

There is no indication that the two pedestrians were in a marked crosswalk. Both were transported to hospital where the woman remains in life threatening condition. The girl has since been upgraded to serious condition.

The driver of the Tuscon stopped and remained at the scene. Speed and sun glare are being investigated as factors in this collision.
