Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs expected in the Calgary area this weekend

In the coming days, citizens can expect to see an influx of outlaw motorcycle gang (OMG) members, particularly members of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (HAMC), in the Calgary area for a pre-planned gathering of the group and its support clubs and associates.

The Calgary Police Service, in partnership with the RCMP, will have a joint police presence throughout the city, monitoring the activities of those attending and ensuring they abide by the law, including the Traffic Safety Act.

We do not anticipate an increased risk to public safety, however, there is always a potential for violence associated with organized crime and motorcycle gangs.

Motorcycle gangs host several events across Canada every year and historically these types of gatherings have passed without incident. The CPS, however, will be enforcing the laws with this group as we would any citizen who contravenes them.

The CPS and RCMP would like to encourage citizens to report all suspicious activity concerning OMGs by calling 9-1-1 for a crime in progress, the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or by anonymously contacting Crime Stoppers using any of the following methods:
