Northwest CTrain Derailment - Update #2

The investigation into this morning’s CTrain derailment at Tuscany Station continues.

The driver of the train remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.

Shuttle buses will be used during the afternoon commute between Crowfoot and Tuscany stations. Some delays are expected. Traffic along Crowchild Trail is moving in both directions, but with major delays. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and consider alternate routes.

A large crane is on its way to assist with the clean-up, and will likely arrive mid-afternoon.

As this remains an active and ongoing investigation, additional details are limited at this time. Media are encouraged to attend the 2 p.m. update with Transit’s Acting Director, Russell Davies – please refer to the earlier advisory.
