YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre Supports Encana Corporation in Toy Angels Initiative

YouthLink Calgary is proud to support Toy Angels 2013, Encana Corporation, Lite 95.9 and the Salvation Army’s annual holiday toy drive in support of Calgary’s less fortunate families.

“Participating in the Toy Angels Family Event is an exciting way for YouthLink to give back to one of our major donors – Encana Corporation,” says Tara Robinson, YouthLink Executive Director. “Our organization could not exist without the generous donations of corporate Calgary, private donors and the Calgary Police Service.”

YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre has been engaging and empowering Calgary’s youth to make confident and positive choices surrounding some of life’s greatest challenges since 1992.

Delivering content in a dynamic, interactive format and maximizing use of technology, in a way that speaks to youth “in their own language” YouthLink teaches Calgarians about current issues youth may face in Calgary to allow them to make positive choices and become responsible citizens.

YouthLink’s physical space is closed as a result of the June flood. Wherever possible, programming is being offered online or through outreach programs until the new YouthLink facility opens at Police Headquarters early in 2015.

Protecting and educating our youth on how to stay safe and be resilient is a societal issue. YouthLink is grateful for support (financial, advocacy, manpower and endorsement) from the community to continue the valuable work it does for Calgary’s youth.

The Encana Family Event in support of Toy Angels takes place this Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Calgary Police Headquarters, 5111 – 47 St. N.E. YouthLink Calgary, along with numerous Calgary Police Service Units, will be present at this event.

Additionally, new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at any Calgary Police Service location until December 20, 2013.
