Stolen Classic Car

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in locating a classic car stolen from its elderly and longtime owner.

Sometime between 7 p.m., on Saturday, July 12, 2014, and 5 p.m., on Sunday, July 13, 2014, the red, 1962 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was taken from its parking space in the 9600 block of Bonaventure Drive S.E.

The two-door vintage automobile’s owner is 73 years old, and it has been in his possession for more than 40 years.

The vehicle was parked in the outdoor lot and was covered by a tarp. As well as being locked, the owner used a padlock to deter thieves. In this case, the padlock was cut off and left behind. It has been seized by investigators.

The vehicle has a blacktop convertible roof and red interior. It does not have license plates. Photos of the stolen vehicle are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

Due to the rarity of the vehicle, investigators are asking the public to keep an eye out for the car. If anyone witnessed suspicious activity around the area where the car was stolen, they are also asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
