Spring Clean-up street sweeping is complete

The City of Calgary’s Spring Clean-up program is now complete.

Spring Clean-up is an annual street sweeping program that removes sanding materials and debris that has accumulated on roads and along major sidewalks and boulevards during the winter months.

The Spring Clean-up program began on April 20 and since then 14,358 lane kilometres, the return driving distance from Calgary to Costa Rica, have been swept and almost 50,000 m3 of debris have been removed from city streets. If all of that debris was piled into McMahon Stadium the pile would be 12 feet high.

The City of Calgary, Roads thanks Calgarians for their help with moving their cars and blue, black and green carts from city streets when sweeping was scheduled. Keeping our city clean and safe is a collaborative effort.
