Semi Truck Impacts Bridge in the Core

Just after 4:00 A.M. this morning the Calgary Fire Department was called to 9 avenue and 1 street S.W. for reports of a motor vehicle collision. First arriving crews found a Semi Truck and trailer that had impacted the train bridge at the underpass on 1 street S.W. just south of 9 avenue.No injuries were reported and an assessment of damage was conducted by on scene Fire Department personnel and representatives of CP Rail. Although the Semi had significant damage to the trailer unit, the bridge sustained minor cosmetic damage. 1 street S.W.  between 9 avenue and 10 avenue was closed for a brief time while the truck was moved and the damage assessment was conducted.  1st street has since been reopened prior to the morning commute and no road closure as a result of this incident remain in effect.
