Police asking for help identifying arson suspects

The Calgary Police Service is asking for the public’s help to identify men connected to two arsons in southwest Calgary.

At approximately 1 a.m., on Jan. 1, 2015, a man approached the back door of a business located in a converted house in the 1700 block of 11 Avenue S.W. It is believed that the man poured a flammable liquid on the building and set it on fire.

The same property was later visited by two men – one of which may have been the same man from the earlier incident – at approximately 3 a.m., on Jan. 20, 2015. Video surveillance shows what appears to be the two men breaking into the property. A small fire was set inside the building, but it burned itself out before spreading very far.

Police believe the business is being targeted and the two incidents together resulted in an estimated $100,000 in damage. No one was injured.

The first suspect is described as a Caucasian male with a slim build. He was seen wearing a camouflage jacket with a light-coloured hoodie underneath and a light-coloured toque.

The second suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 30 years old and 5’10” in height, with a slim build and short receding hair. He was seen wearing a white hoodie.

The third suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 30 years old and 6’1” in height, with a slim build and short hair. He was seen wearing a light-coloured baseball cap, black leather jacket, blue jeans and black shoes.
