Man Charged in Voyeurism Investigation

The Calgary Police Service has charged a man in relation to a voyeurism investigation.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014, police were called to a residence in the 2500 block of 98 Ave. S.W. for reports of a problem with a neighbor. A 14-year-old girl living in the residence alleged a neighbor, who was a family acquaintance that she and her family have known for approximately six years, had been sending her inappropriate text messages within the last year.

In March of 2014, the girl also found a surreptitious video recording device installed in her residence, which she believed her neighbour had installed during a previous visit to her home.

A search warrant was executed at a residence in the same apartment building on Sunday, April 6, 2014. As a result, a substantial amount of technological-related items were seized and are in the process of forensic examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Chad Barry Robert STONE, 41, of Calgary, is charged with voyeurism and luring a child by telecommunication. He will next appear in court on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.
