Heritage Day 2015 Hours of Operation for City of Calgary Facilities

Calgary's first municipal golf course opens at Shaganappi Park on July 31, 1915.

The City of Calgary is adjusting its hours of operation for services and facilities on Heritage Day, Monday, August 3, 2015.

Calgary Transit
Calgary Transit will provide a Sunday level of service on Heritage Day, Monday, August 3. Please check the Plan a Trip page to find out when your bus is running.

All Customer Service Centres will be closed for Heritage Day. The Calgary Transit call centre will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Access Calgary dispatch line for same day service will be open from 6 a.m. to midnight.

CTrain Service Disruption Information: Saturday, August 1 to Monday, August 3 the Dalhousie, Crowfoot, Tuscany LRT stations will be closed to accommodate maintenance work on the rail bed. Shuttle buses will be in place for service from Brentwoood Station through to Tuscany Station. Learn more.

Calgary Parking Authority
No payment is required for on-street parking on Heritage Day, August 3, 2015.
Holiday rates will be in effect at select Calgary Parking Authority surface lots and parkades.

The Calgary Parking Authority office will be closed on August 3, 2015 and will re-open at 8 a.m. on August 4.

Golf Courses

Leisure Centres (Regular admission applies)
Southland Leisure Centre will be open on Monday, August 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Village Square Leisure Centre will be open on Monday, August 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Aquatics and Fitness Centres
All aquatic and fitness centres will be closed on August 3. If the weather is nice, enjoy the sunshine and beat the heat by visiting one of the many wading pools, spray parks and outdoor pools.

Arenas
​All arenas will be closed on August 3, except for advance bookings.

Athletic Parks
All athletic parks will be closed on August 3, except for advanced bookings.

Art Centres
The North Mount Pleasant and Wildflower Arts Centres will be closed on August 3.

Calgary Soccer Centre
The Calgary Soccer Centre will be closed on August 3, except for any advance bookings.

City of Calgary Parks
Inglewood Bird Sanctuary
Park hours: sunrise to sunset year-round.
The Nature Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Heritage Day, Monday, August 3.

Devonian Gardens
Devonian Gardens follow the same hours as the CORE Shopping Centre’s Merchants and will be open 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on August 3.

Animal Services Centre

The Animal Services Centre will be closed on Heritage Day, August 3.
The Centre will reopen for regular hours on Tuesday, August 4 (Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).

Residential Waste & Recycling Collection
Residential waste & recycling collection is not affected by the Heritage Day holiday.

Landfills
Spyhill, Shepard and East Calgary Landfills are currently open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours of operation are not affected by the Heritage Day holiday.

Administrative Offices
City of Calgary administrative offices, as well as the offices of the Mayor and Office of the Councillors will be closed on Heritage Day, August 3, and will reopen for regular business hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) on Tuesday, August 4.

Other Facilities and Holiday Activities

Fort Calgary
Fort Calgary is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Hours of operation are not affected by the Heritage Day holiday. Celebrate local history and heritage with Fort Calgary. Explore the Interpretive Centre and Community Garden for free.

Heritage Park
Heritage Park will be open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, August 3. Visit Heritage Park on Heritage Day for interactive history-filled day, that's sure to delight the entire family. Be one of the first 500 guests through the gates before 10:30 a.m. and enjoy a complimentary pancake breakfast in Gunn’s Dairy Barn.
