“One the most important responsibilities of the Police Commission to hire the Chief of Police" said Rod Fong, Chair of the Calgary Police Commission. "In order to make this critical decision, we need input from the community. We want to know what expectations Calgarians have of their new Chief of Police. What qualities and characteristics should the Police Commission look for in a new Chief? The input we receive will play a valuable role in the selection of a new Chief and will assist us in setting priorities for the future."

As part of its role to recruit and select a new Chief of Police, the Calgary Police Commission partnered with Boyden Global Executive Search, a recruitment company with experience conducting community consultations.

Calgarians can also share feedback online until July 15, 2015 at: https://www.boyden.ca/canada/forms/calgary_police_commission_chief_of_police/index.html or by contacting Boyden directly at calgarypolicechief@boyden.com.

The public input received from the online survey and the town hall sessions will be considered alongside feedback received from other community partners, including Calgary Police Service members who will be invited to participate in exclusive focus group sessions.
