Calgary Fire Extinguishes early Morning House fire

Shortly after 8:00 am this morning the Calgary Fire Department was called to the 100 block of Elgin Rise S.E. for reports of a house fire. Fire crews were alerted to the fire by a neighbor who saw smoke exiting from a second story window and called 911. Due to the large volume of smoke and the close proximity to other homes a second alarm was requested by the first arriving officer. No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries are reported. The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished and investigators are currently onscene conducting a thorough investigation into cause. Local traffic is not being affected by the work being conducted.
