Calgary Fire Department responds to South East garage fire

At approximately 11:00 this evening the Calgary Fire Department was called to the 2600 block of 11 AV SE for a reported structure fire.  Upon arrival fire crews were faced with a fully involved garage fire with flames rising 6 meters above the roof line.  Utilizing large volume hose streams, the flames were quickly knocked down by on scene firefighters.  The fire was confined to the garage but the garage, and a vehicle inside, were totally destroyed. Two additional vehicles parked outside sustained minor damage. The couple who lived in the adjacent home were uninjured.  Investigators are currently on scene.  Traffic in the area is unaffected at this time.
