Calgary Fire Department responds to fatal motor vehicle collision

 

 

 

At approximately 4:50 this afternoon, the Calgary Fire Department responded to a single vehicle collision, northbound on Crowchild Trail SW at approximately 24rd Avenue.  The full size SUV with two occupants, struck the concrete sound barrier causing significant damage to the vehicle.  Fire crews were required to extricate a female patient and provide basic life support until patient care was transferred to Alberta Health Services.   Paramedics declared one male patient deceased at the  scene.  Fire crews also assisted Calgary Police Service with traffic control and closed traffic on northbound Crowchild Trail between 33rd Avenue and Richmond Road SW.
