Calgary Fire Department extricates 3 people from vehicle collision

 

 

 

Shortly after 11:00 last night, the Calgary Fire Department was called to Shaganappi Trail and Bowness Road NW for reports of a vehicle collision.  Upon arrival, CFD found 2 involved vehicles, both significantly damaged by the force of the collision. Vehicle 1, an Oldsmobile SUV had 2 female victims trapped inside.  Vehicle 2, a Nissan SUV had 1 male victim trapped inside.  Firefighters used specialized extrication equipment to remove the 3 victims then transferred patient care to waiting EMS crews. Both female patients, one in her forties and the other in her sixties, were conscious and alert.  The male patient, a man is twenties was unresponsive.  CPS is on scene investigating. Currently, both Northbound and Southbound lanes of Shaganappi Trail are closed between 16 Avenue and 32 Avenue NW.
