Calgary Fire Crews Extinguish Double House Fire In The NE

 

 

 

Just after 2:30 this morning, the Calgary Fire Department responded to reports of a house fire in the 100 block of Castlebrook Rd NE.The first arriving officer was met by a fully involved single family structure fire that had spread to an adjacent residence. Faced with 2 structures on fire, the officer called for an additional alarm and attacked the fire using large volume water streams which rapidly brought the fire under control.3 people had self evacuated prior to the Fire Department arrival and were assessed and released by on scene Alberta Health Services. Both homes received substantial damage and will be uninhabitable.Crews remain onscene extinguishing hot spots. Cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
