Man charged in robbery of senior

A man has been charged following a public plea for assistance with identifying a suspect who robbed an elderly man.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, a 67-year-old man was struck from behind in the parking lot of a shopping centre located in the 3300 block of 17 Avenue S.E.

The victim’s wallet, which contained $200 cash along with bank cards, was taken. The victim’s bank card was used at a gas station in southwest Calgary shortly afterwards on the same day.

The victim was treated by EMS at the scene and sustained a concussion as a result of the attack.

Shawn Alvin Phillip MCMILLAN, 37, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of robbery, three counts of fraud and one count of possession of a controlled substance.
