Man charged in bank robbery

The Calgary Police Service Bank Robbery Team has charged one man in relation to a robbery that occurred last week.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., on Wednesday Oct. 19, 2016, a man entered the Scotiabank located in the 3500 block of 32 Avenue N.E. He approached a teller and produced a robbery note indicating he was armed and demanding money. He was given an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the bank.

No one was injured and no property was damaged as a result of the incident.

On Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, District 4 officers were able to identify the man and take him into custody without incident.

Paul BRACEGIRDLE-YEARWOOD, 21, of Calgary, was charged with one count of robbery. He was also charged with unrelated outstanding warrants. He will next appear in court on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016.
