Man charged in Forest Lawn death

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has charged a man in relation to the homicide of a man that occurred in Forest Lawn on the weekend.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., on Sunday, May 29, 2016, police were called to the 200 block of Forest Road S.E., for reports of an altercation. A man in his 30s was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition where he later died.

An autopsy completed yesterday, Monday, May 30, 2016, identified the victim as Noel Francis DELORME, 36, of Calgary. Cause of death will not be released at this time.

Investigators believe a number of people had gathered at the residence to drink alcohol when an altercation occurred that left the victim in life-threatening condition. Three men were taken from the residence for questioning and one was charged.

Justin WOODSIDE, 39, of Calgary, is charged with manslaughter. He will appear in court today, Tuesday, May 31, 2016.
