Man charged in death of Itgel BAATARSUREN

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has charged a man in the murder of Itgel BAATARSUREN.

Just after 9 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, medical staff at the Sheldon Chumir Health Centre called police when they were alerted to a man being dropped off at the facility with a gunshot wound. After dropping the victim off, a man fled from the clinic in a white Pontiac G5.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators believe the shooting occurred in a parking lot in the 900 block of 36 Street N.E., and was the result of a dispute involving drugs.

On Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, Ausama Effat MOHAMED, 18, was arrested without incident and charged with second-degree murder.
