Man charged in southeast bank robbery

The Calgary Police Service Robbery Team has charged one man in relation to a bank robbery that occurred yesterday.

On Monday, March 13, 2017, at approximately 8:20 a.m., a man entered the TD Canada Trust located in the 500 block of 58 Avenue S.E. The man was wearing a black balaclava and demanded money from a teller. He was given an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the bank in a white pickup truck.

No one was injured during this robbery.

A short time later, officers located the same vehicle parked outside a residence in the 1200 block of Danloe Street N.E. Multiple police units, including members from the Tactical Unit, contained the residence. Not long after, a man exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident.

Gordon Ross BISHOP, 34, of Calgary, has been charged with one count each of robbery and disguise with intent. He will next appear in court today, Tuesday, March 14, 2017.
