Incident at Brentwood CTrain Station

The Calgary Police Service is investigating an incident that took place at the Brentwood CTrain station last night.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, CPS responded to a call to assist Transit Peace Officers who were attempting to arrest a man on the CTrain platform. The arrest took place during routine fare checks at the station.

The suspect tried to escape during the attempted arrest and fled from officers before being apprehended. He was arrested a short while after.

When CPS arrived on scene, the 40-year-old man was in medical distress. CPR was administered on site before he was transported to hospital where he remains in life threatening condition.

Investigators have spoken to the officers and are reviewing CCTV footage as per protocol.
