Homicide Unit investigating northwest shooting

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is leading the investigation into a shooting incident in the northwest that left one man dead.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., today, Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, emergency crews were called to the 4600 block of Bowness Road N.W., for reports of a man in medical distress. When officers arrived they found a man in his 40s who had sustained critical injuries as the result of a shooting. He died a short time later in hospital.

As part of the scene, Bowness Road between 45 Street and 46 Street N.W., will be closed for several hours.
